Twins?

These two are twins.
These two are also twins.
But these two....not twins!
You'd be amazed at the amount of people who ask if they are twins. I laugh a little to myself everytime because I always think of these twins.

Anyway's it was definitely a turning point for Owen and Drew. Owen has not been too sure about his cousin in the past. This time, he not only seemed to really enjoy Drew's company, he seemed to imitate Drew's behavior. By the end of the week, Owen was babbling, roaring, stomping & running around (all signature Drew traits). If you would like a refresher on the last Florida trip feel free to go back to my previous posts. It was great to see them get along so well this time.

Whoa! How'd that get in there?

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

We're back from Florida! My sister is married, we met The Mazurs, Thankgiving was Thursday, Owen was sick. I have a lot to cover!
I'm going to break the blog posts up a bit so as not to overwhelm with information! Also, I have to wait to post wedding pictures. All my pictures from the day suck and I didn't even get a good shot of my sister! In my defense, I was in the wedding.

I was more worried about how Owen would do on the plane on this trip than I have been about any other flight he's been on. He is after all, flirting with the terrible twos. That's a lie. He is in a full fledged relationship with the terrible twos. But more on that in another post...Luckily, Owen was a rockstar. I did have my secret weapon - a portable DVD player (fully charged this time) with an arsenal of Baby Einstein movies. That did the trick! My 2nd brilliant move was to stratigically seat myself in front of a baby who screamed for the duration of the flight. It's a dirty trick but Owen was the automatic winner! What's more is that after 2 years of ignoring Owen's whining, I was able to tune the other baby out!

For the week of the wedding, my mother and father rented a house in Flordia and we stayed with them. That was absolutely the way to go as far as accomodations. We had all the comforts of home (and more actually) and Owen had plenty of space to explore and roam. Haha! I'm a poet and don't know it!

Danielle, Keith and Peyton Mazur came to visit us right off the bat. It was so wonderful to finally meet them. I love meeting other families who are going through the same thing and to see other body types that are the same as my son's. The Mazurs were awesome! Definitely my kind of people. I'm look forward to seeing them the next time we are in Florida.
Peyton...I can't even talk about her without bursting with excitement. She is SOOOOO cute! Sweet, happy, loving, nice.
Owen and Peyton got along very well. There was quite a bit of smooching going on!

If we could read their minds...

Owen: Uuhh...hey there hot stuff. Are those comfort fit diapers you're wearing?
Peyton: Ruuuude! That's none of your business! Owen: I'm sorry. I just was just trying to start a conversation. You're so pretty
Peyton: Awwww! That's OK. I think your cute too.
Owen: So...you wanna watch a Baby Einstein video with me sometime?
Peyton: Sure! But only if I can bring the apple juice.
Owen: I think I love you!
Ok - maybe could have done without the comments, but that's how I heard it in my head!

Here's a few more pictures.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Dear Grandma,
Happy Birthday! I love you very much and hope you have (had) the best day ever. I love when you pick me up from daycare because I get to spend time with you. I think you are the funnest person ever. You play with me and buy me clothes. You are always giving me kisses and telling me how smart I am (I think you are right).
Some people aren't as lucky as me to have a grandma who they get to see a lot and I feel bad for them. Promise that you will always love me and be around. My parents get very annoying and I will need a super awesome place to go. I can't wait to see you again and I am thinking about you!
Love,
Owen

Goodbye Grandma Jo

Dan's grandmother Josephine peacfully passed away last Thursday morning. Owen was lucky enough to have spent time with his great grandma on several occasions, most recently last weekend. She was one of the sweetest most loving women I knew and I feel privleged to have been part of her family. We all love her and will miss her very much.

Labor Day Weekend (OK it's a week late but better late than never?)

On Labor day weekend, Dan, Owen and I spent a fun fill time camping with the other Wright family. Dan's brother Andy, his wife Linda and their daughter Evelyn. We had SOOOOOO much fun!!! Yes - capital letter, 6 "O"'s, fun!

It was wonderful to spend time with them. We don't do it often enough. My niece is pretty much the cutest little girl you've ever seen. She's totally gorgeous and has personallity for miles. Andy's already cleaning out his gun in anticipation of the high school years!

It was Owen's first trip up north and I must say...he did pretty damn good! Almost better than I did (Owen doesn't crave running water and a blowdryer like I do). He slept and behaved well. I have absolutely no complaints. Well, one actually....After 3 days in the Manistee national forest...we were a smelly family! Espically the little dude.

Notice the resemblence between Owen and Evelyn. I think it's definitely a big one. Although I suppose that's not too far fetched with Dan and Andy being identical twins and all. And no, in case you were wondering, they have never pulled the ol' twin switcheroo on Linda and I. A girl can only dream. Haha! Just kidding!

OK - I just woke up, no make up, no shower...let's look past the appearance people!

Owen thinks Andy is Dan! Which actually didn't happen as often as you would think.

Owen fell asleep on Dan for 2 hours at the beach. Not in this position though! Can you imagine the tan lines?

Crazy beach dude hair. Owen's first S'more. He's pretty good with a stick, a marshmellow and a campfire. Haha! Just kidding. The kids playing with their glowsticks. Owen's super impressed.

Dan was oddly good at moving with the glowsticks...Hmmm....too many early hour raves??

Party in the camper!
