The best day!

I'm having the best day so far! Dan and I are both off today so we are having family day!

Owen had PT this morning which went well. Then, we took Owen to the Barnes & Noble where he walked out with a brand new Thomas the Train magnet book! To be totally honest with you, I loathe Thomas.

Am I the only one who finds all the Thomas story lines complete snoozers? Sheesh! What is the fun in reading about a train on his daily schedule? I think the most exciting thing that has happened to Thomas was when a log on the track screwed him for about 2 seconds, then he was back to his same old boring schedule. Also, one of the trains - I can't remember which one - is a total dick! I don't need that kind of negativity around my son. One more thing...Sir Topham Hatt? Could you have come up with a more difficult name to pronounce especially for a 2 year old? Might as well have named him Eioapnakbn Poaypruawedjralsdj (I apologize if this is your name and I have offended you). Whew! As usual...I digress....

Lunch was at Halo Burger and Owen had a blast in the play area and was extrordinarily cute. He was making friends with all the other kids.

When we got home, we laid in bed and he cuddled with us which he NEVER does. He was also very kissy. He never gives kisses without being asked but today, he wouldn't stop planting them on me! I loved it! My little cuddly Owen!

So that's our day so far. Owen's outside with Dan who will be grilling us steak for dinner. AND! To top it all off - Lost is on tonight!!!

Oh, my god... I just wrote the most boring post ever. Really?! Was it totally necessary for me to log on my computer and tell you about the totally mundane day I am having? Yikes! Well I hope I at least stirred some emotion with my Thomas rant. Ok, I'll try to do better next time!

I find Thomas a bit freaky myself...but the kids like it. Yah for a cuddly Owen! I love it when the girls are like that. And it sound like you had a perfect family day...nothing mundane or boring about your post at all! Enjoy your dinner :)

Cat!
A fun family day - I love those! I think Caden has the same Thomas magnet book. I am SO SICK AND TIRED of "Do-do-mas"! Caden will watch Thomas all day if I let him. The train's eyes are much too googley scary for me and the voices are way too monotone! So I feel your pain! Enjoy your yummy dinner!

I love family days! It may sound like normal things but I can almost hear the excitement and happiness over the great day you guys had together! Sort of like my posts lately...all about our outdoor play as its been so nice outside! I love spring! And luckily my little guy hasn't discovered Thomas yet. ;)

I remember my brother being mad into Thomas when i was little..Sir Topman Hat was called the Fat Controller then...Luckily Leo never really got that into him and Fern just likes babies, princesses bags and shoes! Yeah for a family day:0)

Shoot! I forgot Thomas was an English thing wasn't it? I have to apologize to my friends across the sea whom I offended by bashing Thomas. I suppose we got even by sending you Barney! LOL!

Oh, I am soooo lucky to have all girls.... NO THOMAS!!!! However... Bratz dolls, 500 Littlest Pet Shop tiny itty bitty peices and dare I say GLITTER everywhere I turn! Hahaha! We had a pretty mundane day here too... grocery shopping... woo hoo! LOL!

That sounds like a fabulous day! I don't understand the Thomas thing one bit...do they utilize brainwashing and propanganda techniques in those ridiculously dull and monotonous storylines? I don't know if any adult has ever watched long enough to find out!

Not particularly fond of Thomas either. No offense to the English either. We need a family day too especially since Todd has such a whako schedule. Just wait til the talking gets better...Owen will start singing all the Thomas songs...over and over and over and then you will start singing them because they will get stuck in your head. Fun times!

Cat, you are hilarious! Love the rant about Thomas :) I agree too. I hate watching that show!! Anytime Will ask to watch it I beg him to watch something else (even Barney), but I usually fail. Glad your day was great and glad you got so many kisses from that cute kid of yours :)

Oh, you've got to watch the shows about Thomas, they're so freaken hilarious. Very sarcastic. I think it depends what years you watch but it's been narrated by Ringo Starr, George Carlin and Alec Baldwin. The Carlin episodes are really sarcastic from an adult's perspective. The kids don't pick up on it, but you guys will.

Sounds like a fun day - I love family days! How sweet that Owen had so many kisses to share with you today!
I agree with you on Thomas, and I have kept Simon from Thomas so far. We'll see how long it lasts - his one cousin is obsessed with Thomas, but he only sees him every few months.

So I am sitting here peeing in my pants because I totally hear you on the Thomas thing. I literally am laughing so hard. My dad will be reading the paper while it is on and he is like "All these friggin trains do is bitch and complain-they sound like the people in my office." Gordon is the nasty prick by the way. Apparently a moral comes out of it-but what a bunch of whiny pieces of metal. "I'm useful" "No you suck, I am more useful." I think you are inspiring me to do a whole Thomas basing post....hummmmmm.

Not only are the Thomas trains a bunch of whiney bastards, they're also the MOST EXPENSIVE TRAINS OUT THERE. Yep, that's right. We buy the Toys R Us brand train table and sets, then get one or two Thomas cars so it looks like a Thomas set. Evan's just now getting to where he's figuring it out! LOL

I agree with Lisa, my Thomas experience is 10+ years old. Jacob grew up on Thomas, so we love the older Thomas in this house. I have seen some of the newer episodes, but we haven't gotten into them.

Sound like you guys had a great day!!

Sounds like a great day! I guess we are double lucky - Trace really isn't into Thomas too much, he's got a movie and a couple trains, but he much prefers GeoTrax, plus Trace is always willing to cuddle! Hope you get more family days in the upcoming weeks!
